Germany: AI and lidar sensors for traffic lights that ensure safety

German researchers from the Fraunhofer Institute IOSB-INA wanted to use lidar sensors and artificial intelligence to improve road safety. For example, pedestrian safety traffic lights were equipped with an intelligent system that optimizes traffic flow, with the aim of reducing waiting times while increasing safety.
