Sensortechnologie kan worden gebruikt om lokale bescherming te bieden tegen zwaar weer. De provincie Rogaland, gelegen in het zuidwesten van Noorwegen, heeft een generiek klimaatplatform voor lokale overstromingswaarschuwingen ge\u00efmplementeerd, dat momenteel in ontwikkeling is.
